Join us in our upcoming seminar about developing identity in today's world. "The Stories That Shape Our Lives" is designed to teach the many different ways that stories influence us in a constitutional way. Here we will discuss the power of stories in our lives, borrowing from post-modern philosophers and thinkers to understand what makes us who we are, how the story of who we are is told, and who gets to tell it. Led by Narrative Therapist Paul Newland, M.S., we will cover some metaphors to help us understand the basics of self-surveillance, the forces of knowledge that put pressure on us to act or look certain ways, and looks to answer questions about how we become the people we want to be.
